AARON LOVETT
A collage of verité footage and both recorded and appropriated audio, this experimental documentary film addresses Jewish identity and its relationship to the State of Israel, the land also known as Palestine. Rather than claim to show the objective truth of this tense part of the world, where many competing truths contribute to its defining challenges and questions, Sights and Sounds from the Homeland embraces the subjective. This is what I saw as an American Jew in Israel, and this is what I heard, and this film is something I made.
